Hi! This might be my last post until Monday or Tuesday. Tomorrow I go on an adventure/rescue mission. It’s top secret and I can’t tell -anyone-, let’s hope I’m successful!
LAQ have released a new line of heads called the ERA2 Line. The one I’m showcasing today is called ELLE and she’s at the Skin fair now!
I’m wearing Elle with the LAQ Elowen skin, also available at the skinfair. Above you’ll see all the tones available, in the ‘brows’ version of the skin.
Above, there’s a picture of the three pages of the LAQ huds. They respond fairly quickly, but I did find them to be quite cluttered, and a lot of the positioning of the various options didn’t make a whole lot of sense. I did like the addition of the static face poses (kinda like the axis hud, but with less options).
Things of note from a Lelutka EVOX user
* The eyes pulse. If you remember the add-on catwa eyes, this was always a function with them, and honestly it was the only reason I didn’t delete those eyes from my inventory. I LOVE this. * There appears to be extra eyelash options – if you’re a void eyelash wearer, you’ll be familiar with the ‘third’ set that are brushed down that those eyelashes include. This seems to be an option in LAQ heads built in. * The sweat/cry/blush options are really cute (I’ve added a video below!) and innovative! * The material options in the hud aren’t described well. Despite standing in several lighting options on full graphics, I couldn’t really figure out the difference between them easily. There did seem to be two options that were obvious, but there are 8 buttons on the hud for materials. * The different ear shapes are within your hud and already on your head, so there’s no need for extra attachments. I’m not really versed in things like complexity, so I’m unsure how this will affect your general day-to-day wearing of the head, or the lag that might be associated with it. * There’s also a forked tongue option integrated into the hud/head. I tried the animations, but i’m not really sure what their purpose was, and they looked a little odd. * The animation hud does include that little portion like a less detailed version of the Lelutka Axis hud. It was useful when taking a photo. * ALL the animations are not fluid. There’s a little choppiness to them, which make them sub-standard in comparison to Lelutka. * You click to apply an item, and then click to remove it. As soon as I’d figured this out, I loved it! * When shaping the LAQ head, i found it -really- difficult to veer too far from the shape handed ‘out of the box’. It’s really not as pliable as the Lelutka heads, and with the arrival of the new Genus Morph, it’s left me feeling a little lackluster.
Overall, I really did find the hud small and cluttered. In my opinion there’s scope for improvements. By making the appearance section a separate hud similar to Lelutka, it’d then open up another page to spread out all the clutter, and make the hud more user friendly. I sincerely hope LAQ bring out a couple of heads that are of different ethnicities, or have noticeably different shaped noses/eyeshapes and lips.
Below you can find the ‘sweat’ option on the LAQ hud in action. There’s also a ‘Cry’ option, and you have the option to use both at the same time for a ‘wet’ look.

Oh my goodness, all the genus things from Skinfair! I have so many notes, so this might seem a little oddly explained, but i’m going to give this a shot.
Starting with Genus, you’ll need to figure out what kind of face shape you want. The face is delivered as a base – there are no eyes, lips or noses on this base, it’s literally an entirely flat mesh head that made me think of ‘grey aliens’ haha. Currently there’s three face shapes, shown above. They’re Triangle, Square and Oval. I’m using Triangle base in all following pictures.
There are five eyeshapes available for the morph heads, all shown above. I’m using the ALMOND shape in all following pictures. It’s worth remembering that these eyes are shown using one shape, and other shapes could accentuate the features you like in a better way.
There are four current nose types available. In all future pictures I will be using the Aqualine, top left. This is the feature that I was most excited for. As someone who thoroughly enjoys multiple looks, i find nose shape to be the thing that i can base an entire shape upon.
There’s four lip styles, but i’m a derp and I’ve added the pierced version twice. The top left is the pierced version with an add on lip piercing, and the bottom right is the pierced lip without the add on. From hereon, i’ll be using the lip piercing lips, with the added piercing.
There’s six ear options. None of these are meshed to the head base and all work as separate attachments. I’m using the medium gauge option.

There’s also a settings page that pops out of all of the pages on the hud.
Here’s some thoughts as an EVOX user.
* Genus has a 4k and a BoM option for their skins. As a regular person, I don’t see any difference between the 4k and the BoM. There may however be a difference when it comes to creating these skins, and I’m sure it allows a greater amount of detail. I’m willing to accept that I’m just an ignorant here. * Genus does not use the EVOX Map. All of those BoM items you got rid of 6 months ago because you thought Genus wasn’t coming back, are now essential for you to create looks. You cannot use your EVOX BOM Makeup & tattoos for this head. * In creating this post, I used 10 attachment points with Genus alone. If you’re someone that uses MANY attachments on a regular basis, I think there needs to be some serious thought put into this head before you purchase it. * In the older versions of Genus that I used to wear pre-update (strong, baby, strange etc), the lashes would weirdly hover in front of the eyes when you made them larger. This issue doesn’t seem to have been resolved for this version of Genus heads. * The hud is much more responsive than I expected, however, I found it to be a big learning curve when I’m used to Lelutka huds. I feel like this is to be expected on purchasing a new head, but it depends on your patience levels! * I wonder how this new way of creating faces is going to affect making shapes and skins for Genus. Are there TOO MANY options to make this a ‘creator friendly’ experience? Take just the noses alone, if someone wears a ‘button’ nose skin on an ‘aqualine’ nose shape, will the idea be lost? * When using the tint options on the hud, it absolutely affected the level of detail in the texture. Genus DOES have the materials layers as options too – which on full graphics and in the right settings would negate that issue, but I wonder how many people are wandering around SL on full graphics all the time. * When creating a shape, it’s not as ‘easy’ to get different looks as it is with Lelutka, who with EVOX have offered us an expansion of our shape sliders. Genus definitely doesn’t have the same optimization, but what I really enjoyed was the way changing the shape of my eyebrows ONLY affected my eyebrows. Changing the shape of my eyes ONLY affected my eyes – and i’m guessing that’s a bonus of having the ‘add ons’ as separated parts. * There seems to be limited animations, in that there’s only the one button that does a generic animation that you cannot pick from a menu. I can’t make my avatar blink without the animation being on, and I don’t actually enjoy the only animation available.
Aesthetically and photographically, Genus is bloody gorgeous. I’m sure i’ve missed some thoughts, but really the only option is for you to try out a demo yourself, and see if it’s something that you would want to switch to on a more permanent basis. I’m really grateful to have had the opportunity to trial this head, and I’ll be keeping her in my inventory for further updates. I’m hoping at some point there might be a way to link all your Genus parts to your head, under one attachment point (or at least a lot less than ten!). I did try to rez the bits to link, but they’re no modify and let’s face it, probably rightly so.
The skin I’m using is also from Genus, and you can find the tones of that below. They all match with the Velour Picasso tones.

I always have so much fun creating looks with the Bespoke heads, and this gorgeous Lion “Leu” is no exception! What better time to go through all the options, than SkinFair?
There are five skins available for the head. There’s two options for them, too. You can wear the EvoX version – which will mean that all of your BoM makeups and add-ons will still work (although they will be affected differently purely because of the shape of the head, so try them first, but please don’t expect them to be 100% perfect all the time), or the SLUV version. There’s a fit for both male and female bodies. I’m wearing the EvoX on my reborn – female – body.
There are six eye options. They’re BoM eyeballs, so you can totally wear your favourite eyes. Alternatively, you can hide the eyes in the head, and wear your favourite mesh eyes instead.
Huds are confusing. They always involve a slight learning curve, but the Bespoke huds are incredibly responsive! I’m sure i’ve probably missed a million things, but there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t play with the options yourself – and maybe let me know of that one important feature that everyone should know about but I don’t.
SL has always been my playground, a place to create interesting and different looks. Without brands like Bespoke, that creativity would be stunted. I’m so grateful for the originality, and the craftsmanship.
The nails I’m wearing are by Astralia. You can find them at the SkinFair too! They come in a selection of ‘mesh’ options, and currently there’s a basic colour hud. I am actually really excited about this – about 10 years ago (I think?) Astralia nails were all I wore, and there were a huge amount of stores that would make appliers for them. I hope to see a similar amount of support for these new versions!

Hai there, I do hope you’re ready for an absolute barrage of information from the SkinFair! For the record, early access is now open. I believe it’s reserved for the Lelutka and Juniper Events groups, but i’m sure you’ll get a notice if a group you’re in is part of the preview.
Let’s start with the base, shall we? I’m wearing the skin & shape (slightly modified at the nose) for the Darkmoon Daisy Skin. There’s 5 tones all in velour picasso skin, with a myriad of eyebrow options to choose from – black, light, browless, brown and pink.
There’s a bunch of hairbase options from AUGENWEIDE, and the one i’ve chosen to showcase is just perfect for an edgier look, with the shaved sides and the length on top. You can also find my lashes (for lelutka and akeruka) as a gift at AUGENWEIDE.

Let’s talk about lipsticks for a moment. I’ve already featured R3HAB’s lippies on my first post, but these ones just take my breath away. They’re so gorgeous and glossy, and come in 8 options.
When I talked about lipsticks yesterday, I suggested changing the opacities on your lelutka hud to give the lipstick a less dramatic look depending on your skintone. Of course, how would you know how to do that without someone showing you??
The colour tattoo i’m wearing might well become a favourite. I’m a sucker for colour tattoos and I feel like finding them to my taste has become a bit of a mission. I couldn’t wait to wear this one, which is available in three variations.
Let’s not forget (I’m biased) our favourite eyes! Lotus has popped out a set of 12 (and one special) eyes, and here’s a sneak peek at the fatpack.
Along with their skin, Darkmoon has provided some eyebags and blush. Below you’ll find an example of their Daisy skin with and without the eyebags, along with all versions of the blush that are available in the pack – and of course, a clean face there, too!
For eyeshadow, I’m using Beauty Unleashed’s FLUTTER HD shadow.
Similarly to the lipsticks, there is an option on your hud that can change the opacities. I’ve included more instructions & a look at the hud again below.
With lelutka dropping Version 4.0 on their heads with Billie and Aaron, they’ve implemented a new system with your eyeshadow that enables you to wear different shades on each eyelid. The menu when clicking your eyeshadow hud will resemble the hud for many eye stores that allow you to choose which side you want to apply the texture too. Overall, many exciting new things, and I can’t wait to show you more!

What, new heads from Lelutka? Well, yes. Billie and Aaron will be the first of the 4.0 line, and 50% off for the Skinfair! New things in the 4.0 line of heads include :
