Yesterday I went to Backdrop City to try and take this photograph.
After 20 minutes of me organizing my items, selecting a pose and getting myself set up, before i’d even logged onto black dragon, three avatars decided their use of this background was more important than mine, and without saying a word they slammed me off the platform in a flurry of sparkles and zoomy noises.
I went back up, thinking maybe it was a mistake and they didn’t mean to. Instead I got “Round two” (it would be a direct quote if they could spell two) and the nocopy gacha items i’d rezzed out were stuck on a platform I was unable to get to.
15 minutes later i did manage to get up there, cam over and grab my stuff, but that’s really not the point, and the fact that I was essentially ‘bullied’ in a school corridor setting isn’t lost on me. The very worst part of this is they didn’t even use the section of the very large backdrop I was using, so there was zero reason why we couldn’t have shared.
I bought the backdrop and supported the creator, and I will continue to use my own backdrops from hereon in.
I say all this for a little vent, and to hope that you treat all the people you meet today with respect. You don’t know what anyone is going through, and you don’t know how your actions – as petty and minimal as you think they might be – may affect them. Please be kind.
Make it a beautiful day, Spoonies. You’re worth it. xoxo.
