Never actually been to a cookout, here in the UK we call them barbecues, but my family were never really fond of them – unless you count my 14th Birthday, when my Dad decided it’d be a great idea to play chef and had to spend 2 hours underneath an umbrella to bbq burgers for 8 of us thanks to a flash storm.
ANYWAY. I know most of us are shutting ourselves away for a while, and I really wanted to just spread a little happiness that maybe revolves around family. I’ve been inundated with pictures of my almost-2-year-old niece in a family whats-app chat, because when you’re that age, you really just see everything as an adventure, and I want a lot more of that and a lot less of the negative.
Also, say hello to Laylie. She said she’s famous now, but I think she’s always been far more than famous. She’s one of my best friends and I’ll ALWAYS carry her, whenever she needs it (Not that stinker Charlie though!).
I hope you’re staying safe, and are being kind throughout all this madness. Make it a beautiful day, Spoonies. We’re so lucky in so many ways, let’s not forget that, too xoxo.
